Fly Fishing/Fly Tying PagesFly Fishing Main Site PagesHome You Are Visitor Number |
The majority of this portion of the site revolves around fly tying. Although I am getting the fishing part up and going slowly but surely. If you are at all curious about who Saj is it goes like this. Saj is actually my initials spelled backwards. It is also an acronym for Salmon Angling Junkie as well as a few other's I cannot mention. Most of my fishing has been restricted to my home province, Nova Scotia, here in Eastern Canada. Although I have had the opportunity, thanks to some very good friends, to fish in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Labrador. Unfortunately I have lost quite a bit of my fishing past but I do have a few pictures up on my Fishy photos page. Hopefully that will change again in the near future Although I will not get to do much fishing this year, I intend on doing a report page. I do not document every trip but I will post on all that I do. I started fly tying in the early nineties and managed to become fairly good at it. I managed to win one fly tying competition back in 1998. I also try to make quite a few display flies. Fly tying is an art form and you can create some incredibely attractive displays using them. I have a page up displaying some of my fly collection. I have accumulated a fair collection from tiers all over the world. From Finland to Oregon. Some have even been tied by their originators for me. I hope you enjoy them as much as myself. Of course I have a Fly Tying Fun page. These consist of my own creations and they were tied with display only in mind. But after looking at a few of them a second time I think some may be good for fishing. I have posted the patterns for those flies in case you would like to tie one up yourself.. I started out My Fly Box with the intention of only including patterns I carry and fish. I have since decided that was not exactly a great idea since I only fish in Nova Scotia and most of you visitors are probably not from around here. So I have decided to turn this into a pattern database of sorts. Some you will not find published anywhere. Others are old standards. I have a modest collection of books related to fishing and fly tying. I love research material. I have a put up a page that lists the one's I own. Hope you enjoy the site!
